Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly driven, strategic, and hands-on Vice President of Sales to lead our Sales and Pre-Sales teams. This executive role is pivotal in shaping our revenue trajectory and driving success in the Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Building Management Systems (BMS) space. You’ll work closely with the CEO and collaborate with Marketing and Customer Success to create a unified and high-performance go-to-market motion.

You are a proactive, critical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is deeply passionate about coaching, accountability, and executing strategic deals. This is not a “behind-the-scenes” leadership role — you are expected to lead from the front, engaging directly in enterprise deals, developing high-performing channels, and enabling your team to close high-value opportunities through a power-based, consultative selling approach.

Industry experience in BAS/BMS and a deep understanding of building controls and smart building technologies is a must. Channel leadership and demand generation experience are also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales leadership and strategy

  • Own and evolve the company’s sales strategy, execution, and team performance across all segments, with a focus on enterprise and strategic accounts in the building controls and automation space.
  • Build and lead direct sales and channel partner strategies, including system integrators, distributors, and strategic alliances, to expand reach and scale revenue.
  • Partner with Marketing to align on demand generation, pipeline creation, and inbound/outbound programs.

Pipeline development and execution

  • Drive a structured, scalable approach to pipeline generation and prospecting. Enable the team to consistently hit daily and weekly prospecting KPIs.
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of top-of-funnel efforts, with a sharp focus on territory planning, outreach cadences, and performance tracking.
  • Take a hands-on role in complex strategic deals, leveraging your knowledge of power-based selling and enterprise sales processes.

Team process and management

  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performance sales and pre-sales team, with clear expectations and high accountability standards.
  • Implement a disciplined sales operating rhythm, ensuring regular deal reviews, performance reporting, and real-time feedback.
  • Partner with the Chief Customer Officer to ensure post-sale handoff and long-term customer success are tightly aligned.

Ideal candidate profile

  • 10+ years in B2B sales, including 5+ years leading enterprise sales teams in the BAS/BMS, HVAC controls, or smart buildings industry.
  • Deep understanding of building automation customer personas and long-cycle, consultative sales.
  • Proven success building and managing channel sales programs and strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale demand generation efforts including outbound prospecting programs and marketing/sales alignment.

Skills

  • Deep expertise in enterprise sales methodologies including power-based selling, strategic account planning, and complex stakeholder management.
  • Expert-level fluency with HubSpot or similar CRMs, Slack, Notion, and Google Workspace to drive collaboration, productivity, and visibility across the team.
  • Strong data fluency and a bias for decision-making grounded in metrics.
  • Excellent leadership presence, with the ability to coach and develop sales talent in real-time.
